Volcano Ruang

A small island volcano off North Sulawesi whose explosive eruptions in April 2024 sent ash more than 15 km high, forced the evacuation of the whole island and neighbouring Tagulandang, and closed Manado's airport. In 1871 an eruption here triggered a deadly tsunami.
