Volcano Kanlaon

The most active volcano in the central Philippines, on the island of Negros. Explosive eruptions since June 2024 have sent pyroclastic flows and ash over farming towns and forced tens of thousands of people into evacuation centres. A sudden steam-driven blast killed three hikers in 1996.
