Volcano Grimsvotn
Iceland's most frequently erupting volcano, hidden beneath the Vatnajokull ice cap. Its 2011 eruption drove an ash plume about 20 km high and cancelled some 900 flights, and the meltwater stored in its subglacial lake periodically bursts out as a glacial flood.
